SYMPOSIUM
Pediatric and Partial Heart Support

SEPTEMBER 10 | 11.30-13.00 | KINGS' HALL

ABSTRACT

This symposium explores the latest advancements in Partial Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) and Pediatric Assist Devices. While traditional heart pumps focus on full support, there is a growing clinical need for "partial" systems that assist a failing heart without taking it over completely. This approach is particularly vital for pediatric patients, who require smaller, more precise devices tailored to their unique physiology.

By bridging the gap between adult partial support and pediatric care, this session aims to highlight how miniaturization and better hemodynamic management can improve outcomes for the most vulnerable patients.
